Stand
Be strong in the Lord, taking advantage of the armour that he
provides so that we may prevail.
Girded with Truth
God, his ways, and his word are truth. We keep them
close by studying the Bible. Jesus is the truth. We keep him close
in prayer, and when we meet with God's church (Matt
18:20).
We are fortified and strengthened when we keep the truth
around us, with us, at hand and ready to use when we are tried.
Having on the Breastplate of Righteousness
The righteousness we obtain in Jesus guards our
heart.
We obtain it by loving God and obeying His word, the
truth we have wrapped about us.
We obtain it by loving those around us, meeting
their needs (Matt
25:35-36).
We obtain it by doing good and avoiding sin, knowing
that when we do, God watches over us and hears our prayers
When God watches over us, we are certainly
protected.
