Church of Christ Sermons - Now with Streaming Audio!
Church of Christ sermons recognize the authority of God and His inspired Word, the Bible.
God's will is to save by preaching.
"For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe." (I Corinthians 1:17-21)
If we reject them, Jesus' words will judge us.
"I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak." (John 12:46-50)
These sermons teach that the bible is God's Word, that the bible is important and use bible quotes to make bible illustrations.
Bible verses are linked to an online bible. Please don't take our word for what the bible says, but read the actual bible verses for yourself. Beginning in 2002, we began to accompany sermon outlines with streaming audio WAV files to make them easier to follow and understand. We trust that you will be edified by listening.
