Text: Matthew
16:24-26.
Purpose: Demonstrate what is involved in
being a disciple.
Introduction
1. The world is literally filled with people who claim that they are disciples of
Christ. 2. However, in almost all cases, they don't practice what they preach. 3. A disciple is one who follows the teaching of another. 4. There are certain qualities that a true disciple of the Lord must possess. 5. The only way to be truly pleasing to him is to be in possession of them. 6. Let us look at Matthew 16:24-26.
Discussion
I. "If ANY man."
A. God desires ALL men to follow him (1 Tim. 2:4).
1. The doctrine of Unconditional Election is false.
2. 2 Pet. 3:9. B. Jesus gave the invitation to all who were weary and heavy laden.
1. Mt. 11:28-30.
