Introduction.
1. One of the responsibilities we have as Christians is to confess our Savior to
the world.
3. However, there is an overreaction to the false doctrine of eternal
security.
False doctrine of eternal security defined/explained:
We take the position that a Christian's sins do not damn his soul. The way a
Christian lives, what he says, his character, his conduct, or his attitude
toward other people have nothing whatever to do with the salvation of his
soul...
All the prayers a man may pray, all the Bibles he may read, all the
churches he may belong to, all the services he may attend, all the sermons he
may practice, all the debts he may pay, all the ordinances he may observe, all
the laws he may keep, all the benevolent acts he may perform will not make his
soul one whit safer; and all the sins he may commit from idolatry to murder will
not make his soul in any more danger...
The way a man lives has nothing
whatsoever to do with the salvation of his soul.
4. In reaction to this sort of thing we find ourselves struggling for any
security at all.
5. In this lesson I want to address this issue of security and determine how we
can have it or even if we can have it.
Body.

II. HOW SECURITY IS ACHIEVED
A. First of all, let us note a few ways security is not achieved.
1. Not by compiling good works -
Ephesians 2:8-10
2. Not by being a good moral person -
Matthew 19:16-22
4. Not by following some spiritual leader -
Matthew 15:14
B. Security is achieved by walking in the light.
2. Walking in the light is a lifestyle of faith, not sinless perfection.
C. Security is achieved by confession of sin.
2. The continuous cleansing of Christ's blood is not a license to sin at will.
3. We must be humble enough to acknowledge our sins if we want forgiveness.
4. When one reaches the point that his mindset is such that he will not confess
his sins, he is no longer walking in the light.
D. Security is achieved by loving one's brother.
E. Security is achieved by abiding in Christ.
2. Before one can abide in Christ, he must first get into Christ.
b. Baptized into Christ -
Romans 6:3
3. But once in Christ, we must live in Him.
Conclusion.
1. What brings assurance and security? A life of devotion from one who is in
Christ.
2. Take hold of the security Christ offers and if you have been redeemed, say
so!
