Introduction:
I. There's nothing like a homecoming!
A. I don't care how much you like getting away; it's always good to come back
home.
B. The bad news is Satan, also, enjoys coming back home.
II. In
Matthew 12:22 (Luke 11:14), a demon-possessed man is brought to Jesus. There are
four responses to this healing:
A. Amazed (23).
B. Reject (24).
C. Unconvinced (38).
III. Jesus presents a parable to teach that there is no middle ground
(Luke11:23-26). We must be filled with Christ and live Christ like to keep Satan away (Luke
11:33-36).
B. Satan wants to come home.
C. Evil spirits don't possess people today.
Body:
I. SATAN LOVES AN EMPTY LIFE.
B. Our heart must be clean (Hebrews 10:22).
C. To stay clean our heart must be filled with goodness (II Peter 1:5-11).
II. SATAN NEVER GIVES UP.
III. SATAN CAN RETURN.
B. It will be worse.
IV. BUT SATAN CAN BE STOPPED.
Conclusion:
I. Jesus came into the world to destroy the works of Satan (I John 3:8).
II. Jesus came into the world that we could overcome Satan (Ephesians 6:12).
