Introduction:
1. This statement is in the midst of several imperatives (submit, be clothed,
humble yourselves, be sober, be vigilant, resist), but it is not an imperative
itself (it is a participle).
2. This statement explains what it means to humble ourselves under God's mighty
hand (they are entrusting themselves to God). See the example of Christ in

I. The Words Of The Verse

II. God Cares For Us
A. God verbally expresses this thought many times through various expressions.
B. Jesus taught us to pray;
Matthew 6:11
III. He is greater than us, but God demonstrated His care.
A. Placing Adam and Eve in a beautiful garden to take care of all their needs
(Genesis 2).
B. Delivering Israel from Egyptian bondage.
C. Even after Israel's apostasy, God continually send judges to deliver them.
D. The ultimate sacrifice of giving His only begotten Son to die for our sins.
III. We Cast Our Cares Upon Him
A. These are cares which would distract us from God's service.

A. Through prayer we can give every care to God, thus we need not worry.

V. Thus, we trust Him in all circumstances.
C. He might help us escape the fear or support us through it.
Conclusion:
What a wonderful and encouraging thought that God cares for me, thus I can
cast my anxieties upon Him, but only if I am a faithful servant of His.
