Purpose
 |
To acquaint young men
with the fundamentals of preaching, teaching and song leading.
|
|
To help these young men
prepare themselves to teach classes, extend the invitation,
lead singing, do
personal work, prepare and present a sermon, etc.
|
|
The Future Preacher's
Training Camp is open to Christian young men regardless of
whether they plan to
preach or not.
|
Time - July 11th to
18th, 2004
|
Students will check in
on Sunday afternoon and be dismissed the following
Sunday evening (following
evening services).
|
|
A graduation and award
ceremony will take place on Sunday evening, July 18.
|
Where - Alkire Road
Church of Christ
|
Meals will be prepared
by the ladies of the congregation and served at the church building.
|
|
Various men stay at the
building each evening with the young men.
|
Expense
|
The camp is free.
The cost for the camp is underwritten by the Alkire Road congregation.
|
|
We usually have a
recreational activity on Saturday.
Spending money should be brought for
this activity.
|
Expectations
|
Students must attend all
classes unless excused by the director.
|
|
Students must complete
all assignments.
|
|
Students will commit fie
passages of scripture to memory each day.
|
|
Students will conduct
themselves as Christian gentlemen at all times.
|
Things to Bring

Sleeping bag or bed roll
|
|
Pillow
|
|
Personal items
(toothbrush, comb, soap, deodorant, etc.)
|
|
Bath towel and wash
cloth
|
|
Bible
|
|
Personal medications
|
|
Dress clothes for
worship services
|
|
Tennis shoes and clothes
for recreational/outdoor activities
|
|
Do not bring radios,
tape players, video games, etc.
|
|
Pre-paid phone card for
long distance phone calls home (optional)

Spending money for
recreational activities.
