It is always appropriate to pray...Jesus taught his disciples to pray (Matthew 6:5-15). We pray when things are going good in our lives and we pray when adversity looms over us. We pray for our loved ones and we pray for our enemies as well. What, then, should we pray for?
Pray that our enemies see the error of their way.We want them to acknowledge their evil and turn from it. We don’t want them to get their just reward. We would love to call them our brother in the Lord someday. "...Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good" (Romans 12:19-21).
Pray that their heart will be softened by the gospel
