You, not the minister, preach the first sermon
The first sermon preached each Sunday is not by the minister, but by you!
What are the messages you are delivering each Sunday?
1. You preach a message of GOOD CHEER.
When you meet someone in the parking lot, or in the hallways, or the classroom and say
"Good Morning" with a smile, you're preaching.
2. You preach a message of WELCOME.
You say, "We have room for you", as you slide over in the pew instead of forcing others to squeeze in front of you.
3. You preach a message of HOPE AND JOY.
When you enthusiastically sing during song-service, you're preaching a beautiful message.
4. You preach a message about the POWER OF PRAYER.
When you fervently enter into the prayer service, you are saying, "I believe in the power of
God".
5. You preach a powerful message on the BLOOD AND BODY OF
CHRIST.
When you reverently partake of the communion, listening to the prayer-leaders and with your Bible open to a scripture, e.g.,
I Corinthians
11:23-30, you're telling a great message!
6. You preach a powerful sermon when you GIVE OF YOUR FINANCIAL
MEANS.
You say, "I love you this much, Lord, and I am giving in accordance with
I Corinthians 16:2 and
II Corinthians
9:6-7". You are preaching a powerful sermon.
You see, many messages have already been preached
long before the minister stands in the pulpit to deliver his message.
If your message has been positive and consistent,
the message from the pulpit will be much, much better.
Will you come faithfully each Lord's Day
Prepared to preach your BEST SERMON?
