Some folks think that Jesus
Was born on Christmas day,
But the Bible does not tell us
It really happened that way.
The shepherds watched their flocks,
In the Bible we are told,
But Galilean grass was gone
By December’s winter cold.
His day of birth we cannot know,
Nor should we really care;
But His painful death on Calvary
Means salvation to them everywhere.
The Jesus that we want to worship
The One we must so love
Is not the Babe of Bethlehem
But One raised and gone above.
"Let’s put Christ back into Christmas"
This need I do not deny;
But methinks it just as necessary
To put Him in the 4th of July.
